What is rainwater harvesting?

Rainwater harvesting is the collection of water that would otherwise have gone down the drain, into the ground or been lost through evaporation. Large surfaces such as roofs or driveways are ideal for rainwater harvesting and can provide upto 100,000 litres of water per year from a medium sized area.

This water can be used to flush toilets, water gardens, feed the washing machine and any purpose that does not require drinking water quality. Rainwater harvesting has the potential to save a large volume of mains water and therefore help the pressure on water resources.

Is it right for Nice 'n Shiny?

Yes, our business is reliant on water to clean people's homes or commercial premises so we are commited to making a difference and relieve the pressures of water shortages in the U.K.

Water is important for the survival of our business, but not as important as the survival of the planets future so we will play our part to help.

How it works?

We have a number of rainwater butt tanks that capture the water and then the rainwater goes through a reverse osmosis system to purify the water ready for us to use and clean your windows and conservatories. As rainwater is soft water and then purified, it will leave your glass nice and shiny.
